Another can’t- miss landmark to see while visiting our store is the ever-changing Bowery Mural at the corner of Bowery and Houston. The Bowery Poetry Club features emerging performers and spoken word artists, while the contemporary New Museum hosting international art is only one block away from OGT. More recently, the Bowery was known as NYC’s lighting district.Ī massive revival of the neighborhood has allowed the Bowery to keep its artistic and somewhat eccentric flavor while adding a touch of modern elegance to this trendy hotspot. Later, the area morphed into New York City’s notorious “Skid Row”, populated by offbeat theaters, dance halls, saloons, and flophouses.
